Easy Mango Orange Passion Sorbet

Passion fruit is one of my favorite fruits. It’s actually not widely available in the supermarkets here, so I usually order online from the local market of southern islands in Japan.

I love enjoying it as is, with yogurt. The following is my personal obsession: Blend frozen mangoes, orange juice and ice cubes then pour over the passion fruit as sauce. So easy, so refreshing and so good. Perfect for the super hot and humid summers in Japan.


Easy Mango Orange Passion Sorbet

  • 1 orange
  • 1 cup (120g) frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup or honey - optional
  • 1/4 cup ice cubes
  • 1 passion fruit


  1. Squeeze juice from the orange.

  2. Place frozen mango chunks, squeezed orange juice, maple syrup and ice cubes into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses or cups then pour passion fruit pulp on top. Serve immediately.

Helpful Tips

You can adjust the sweetness by adding some maple syrup. I personally like a more tart flavor so I don’t use maple syrup but I do use it for guests.
